Kombucha is an effervescent tea-based probiotic beverage that was born in the Far East over 2000 years ago, and has long been associated with vitality and wellness. Our kombucha is a live, raw fermented beverage that is produced by feeding organic tea and sugar to a “scoby” (symbiotic colony of bacteria and yeast). The scoby metabolizes the nutrients in the organic tea and sugar, producing a diverse number of compounds, including, but not limited to:
- Probiotics such as Gluconacetobacter, Acetobacter, Lactobacillus and Zygosaccharomyces.
- B Vitamins
- Polyphenol Antioxidants
- Amino Acids
- Alcohol. Like all fermented beverages, the alcohol level of our kombucha fluctuates within a range, but is always over 0.5% abc, and regulated as an alcoholic beverage.
